Get Creative, Eat Oranges!

Get Creative, Eat Oranges!

Are you STUCK? No clarity and frustrated with whatever you’re creating? Whether it’s art, a new job, or even writing that article for your blog, try bringing more orange into your life.

Writing has never been my favorite, I always seem to get stuck with my words and what to say. So this morning, I had multiple slices of an orange and asked to be in the “flow”. My intent while eating the orange was to bring clarity and creativity to my work today. So that it goes easily and effortlessly, and so far, so good. It usually takes me an hour to write an article, and this is happening super fast and easy!
Orange is the color of creativity. It radiates warmth and happiness! It is made up of the red (love) and yellow (joy) energy. The color orange offers optimism and rejuvenation. It brings spontaneity and a positive outlook.

Orange relates to gut instincts and is the color of your sacral chakra. Your 2nd chakra is your passion and pleasure center. It’s located in the pelvic area, just below the belly button. This is the location of a woman’s womb where life is originated and created. This is also our ‘emotional’ center and where many of us store our unhappiness. If someone hurts you emotionally, you’ll feel like you got hit in that gut kind of a feeling. Next time you feel this envision yourself wrapped up in a nice warm, cozy orange blanket.

The color orange brings spontaneity and a positive outlook. So why not, every day try and incorporate some orange. You can eat or drink oranges, or just sprinkle some orange art or pillows around your house to bring a feeling of comfort and warmth into your home. The orange will bring a positive attitude so you can enter ‘The Flow’ zone in your creativity and will bring more pleasure, passion and ease into your life!

Eating Pineapple can make you Rich!

Eating Pineapple can make you Rich!

so you say, WHAT? Eating pineapple can bring make my rich? Well, yes and no. So I was talking to a friend the other day and we were discussing the healing power of color. She asked me, ‘so what color is best to help me attract money?’ I replied, ‘yellow’. Money is always the symptom of an emotion out of alignment (which stems originally from a thought, but we can discuss that in another email). So money is the symptom of insecurity. A lack of self-worth. The color yellow is the color represents security. It’s the color of sunlight. It’s the color of joy and laughter. It’s the color of warmth. It’s the middle of the rainbow spectrum, and our solar plexus chakra is colored yellow.

So the idea then is, when you are feeling insecure, incorporate more yellow into your life. You could do this by wearing yellow clothes, you could go out into the sunlight and you could also eat yellow foods; such as pineapple! My friend laughed, ‘Really, you’re going to suggest if I eat more pineapple it’s going to make me rich?’. I smiled back, I replied, “it could do, if you believed enough!”

I asked her if she did affirmations? ‘Yes’, she said. I went on to tell her that, if your intent is to bring more security by bringing more yellow into your life, then eating the pineapple would be one big affirmation. Instead of just ‘thinking’ about the thought, you could create a ritual that incorporated all 5 (or 6) senses! How powerful would that be?!!

Think about what how you can bring more color into your life with intent. Magic could happen!

Your Life’s Purpose Path

While everyone’s purpose is to bring love into this world, there are three pathways to fulfilling that purpose. Figuring out your path is the key to discovering the specific task you’ve been assigned to complete and getting that task fulfilled. The three pathways are Love, Wisdom, and Joy.

THE RED FREQUENCY is Love: Circulating the Energy

jennifer-pennington

Those who were born to walk the path of love make great planners and organizers. They thrive where there are established rules and systems that bring order. They do not like or appreciate it when people deviate from their carefully constructed plans. They do not enjoy chaos or surprises.

The color for the path of love is red and its symbol is blood. Part of the reason that people walking the path of love are so resistant to change or alteration is related to the nature of blood. Blood does not do well outside of a closed system. It needs the established and predictable steadiness of a circuit in order to do its best work.

Love’s challenge is its need to control other people, especially those who are not walking the same path. Love tends to be particularly hard on those walking the path of Joy, because it tends to sees Joy’s boundless energy and undirected enthusiasm as a threat to the order it is attempting to bring. Love does get along well with Wisdom, but more because of Wisdom’s adaptable and changeable nature than because it truly understands Wisdom.

Love’s life lesson is that rather than seeking to control and change people, it must learn to accept and appreciate them for what they are. When Love can accept and appreciate others, it will find them much more cooperative and beneficial to the work it is trying to do.

THE BLUE FREQUENCY Wisdom/Peace: Keeping the Flow Going

creative energy drawings

Those born to walk the path of wisdom make great diplomats and inventors. They thrive when they are given the opportunity to learn new things and to pass on their knowledge to others. They do not like it when people try to get in their way or stop them from making progress on something they are trying to do. They do not enjoy having their ideas or insights ignored.

The color for the path of wisdom is blue and its symbol is water. Part of the reason that people walking the path of wisdom are so sensitive to being ignored is due to the nature of water. Water can easily change forms to suit the environment, but if it does that too much, it loses sight of who it really is and can become insecure about its identity. Being ignored leads them to doubt themselves, and plays on their existing insecurities.

While Wisdom walkers can be seen as know-it-alls by the other two, they are usually still able to get along well with both groups. Wisdom helps Love keep flowing by contributing to their store of knowledge about people. Wisdom also helps Joy get along with others by providing a cloud of insulation that keeps tempers from flaring up when Joy’s intense enthusiasm or fiery nature becomes a little much for others to handle.

Wisdom’s challenge is its need to learn to trust itself. Wisdom has a special gift of being able to connect the dots between two seemingly completely unrelated things, which allows it to spot a path that no one else is able to see, just as water finds a way to flow around an obstacle in ways that no one else can. The trouble with that is because no one else around these Wisdom path walkers can see what Wisdom can, they don’t believe it and their lack of belief leads Wisdom to doubt its own conclusions.

Wisdom’s life lesson is to persist in pursuing your vision. People will believe once they see you create it. And in creating it, you will confirm for yourself that it can be done.

THE YELLOW FREQUENCYJoy: Bringing the Energy to Life

creative energy drawings

Joy, in its native state, radiates energy all over the place. Joy walkers are natural entertainers and love the spotlight, even though they tend to be introverted. They love to make people laugh and they delight in play of all kinds.

They are the least understood and most often taken for granted of the three paths. As a result, they frequently turn up as deeply depressed individuals. They may be alcoholics or drug addicts. They struggle to believe in and see the good in themselves.

The color for the path of joy is yellow and its symbol is sunlight. Part of the reason that people walking the path of joy are so often depressed and filled with self-loathing is due to the nature of sunlight. When sunlight is blocked, it becomes shadows. When sunlight is left to its own devices without water to cool things down for it, it becomes destructive.

Joy walkers have a very tender heart and they are easily hurt. While they can hold grudges and be stingy at times, this isn’t their natural tendency. Those things come when they grow afraid of getting hurt. Their natural tendency is to forgive quickly and to be astonishingly generous. When at their best, they give easily and effortlessly of themselves, even when they have very little.

Joy’s challenge is the depression that is ever present and a constant threat to their health and the sanity of the people who love them. Due to their struggle to believe in and see the good in themselves, they have trouble staying on task with their purpose and are easily derailed by failures and setbacks. They need lots of encouragement in order to get past those mental roadblocks.

Joy’s life lesson is that just because others do not see the worth in you does not mean you are worthless. For every person who does not appreciate the Joy Walker, there will be thousands more who do. The world needs you!

7. The Brow Chakra or Third-Eye and the Pituitary, Pineal, and Hypothalamus Glands

7. The Brow Chakra or Third-Eye and the Pituitary, Pineal, and Hypothalamus Glands

In this sixth article in our series on “Chakras and the Body-Mind-Soul Connection”, we’ll examine the brow chakra, also known as the third-eye, and what the pituitary, pineal, and hypothalamus glands provide in terms of insights into understanding and unlocking it for our benefit. We’ll also look at how blockages to these glands or to that particular chakra impact our life and what the symptoms are so we can take action to solve the problems caused by that.

The Pituitary Gland

creative energy drawings

The pituitary gland lies in between the two halves of the brain at the base of the third vertebrae. In scientific terms, it is known as the master gland because it regulates and controls the rate at which the other glands release their hormones and the timing of the release. Until the pineal gland tells the body to act, it doesn’t act.

The pituitary gland is divided into three lobes. The anterior lobe is in charge of regulating the activity of the thyroid gland, the adrenal glands, and the gonads. It tells the body when to grow, how much to grow, and when to stop growing. It also regulates the production of breast milk by pregnant and nursing mothers so that they can nourish the growth of their young.

The intermediate lobe dictates the pigmentation of skin, releasing more Beta-melanocyte–stimulating hormone when there’s been increased exposure to direct sunlight and more protection is needed and decreasing the levels when there’s less sunlight so that more of sunlight can be taken in and absorbed.

The posterior lobe is in charge of releasing antidiuretic hormones which prevent dehydration and regulating the amount of oxytocin in the bloodstream. Extra oxytocin is released when childbirth is ready to take place, aiding in the contractions of the uterus that push the child out of the womb and signaling that it is time for prolactin, the hormone that leads to breast milk production, to be released so that the child entering the world will have what it needs to thrive and flourish.

The anterior (front) lobe and the posterior (back) lobes are attached to the hypothalamus through a cable made of blood vessels and axon (neural connectors) that allow for direct communication.

The Pineal Gland

The last gland to be discovered by modern science and the least understood, the pineal gland is in charge of your body’s natural sleep/wake cycle. It also regulates the sex drive, hunger, thirst, and the aging of the body. It regulates these things in response to light received from the eyes. For example, in a healthy body, when the eyes begin to detect an increase in light from the dawn breaking, it cuts off the production of melatonin and sends a signal to the pituitary gland that it is time to increase the levels of serotonin so that you wake naturally.

It is the job of the pineal gland to take the information collected from the eyes and pass it on so that the other systems can interpret and make sense of what to do about it.

The Hypothalamus

The hypothalamus is the thermostat for the body. It determines, based on the feedback it receives from the rest of the systems, what is normal and healthy. It then takes the information coming in from all of the other systems and works hard to be sure that the right hormones are released to keep things from getting too far off of normal to be healthy. When your systems stray, its job is to bring those back under control. It keeps you safe mentally and physically by regulating the emotions you feel in response to your environment.

If you’re happy, it’s because the hypothalamus sees this situation as “normal and healthy” for you. If you’re mad, the hypothalamus has detected something being done to you by someone else or by a situation you are in that puts your mental or physical health at risk. If you’re anxious, it’s because there’s been a threat detected to the thermostat itself. Something has challenged your sense of personal identity, the “normal” for you. Being aware of your emotions can help you spot the “normal” setting for your health and – if being fat is normal for you – do whatever it takes to reset that point so that you can achieve the weight loss you desire. That’s why true transformation begins in the mind.

The Brow Chakra

Looking at the overall elements of the activities of the pineal and pituitary glands combined with the hypothalamus gland, we get a much better feel for what the brow chakra is and does. It takes the information it receives from the divine and combines it with the information received from our bodies and acts to keep us normalized, stable, and healthy. It is the center that acts to make connections between the divine, the world around us, and what is happening to us on the inside.

Symptoms of a Blocked Brow Chakra

Your life is one big dramatic episode. You are either up or down. You’re never stable. Chaos reigns supreme in your life, and you feel stressed out, anxious, and worried constantly.  You wouldn’t know normal if it walked up to you and introduced itself to you. You truthfully doubt that normal even exists.

Symptoms of a Too Open Brow Chakra

You are so safe, secure, and stable that your life is boring. You’re healthy, you’re safe, but you aren’t really living. You’re comfortable, but you aren’t being challenged and as a result, you aren’t growing. You aren’t flourishing. You aren’t thriving. You’re stagnating.

Next: The Crown Chakra and the Thalamus

In the next lesson, we’ll talk about the connection between the Thalamus and the Crown Chakra, and its role in helping you put all the pieces of your life together so you can maximize your achievement and become your best self.
